Maryanne Barrett is an educator with over 15 years of experience in teaching reading and writing across diverse educational contexts, ranging from early childhood to post-secondary levels. She has dedicated her career to fostering lifelong reading and writing skills among students of all ages. Before relocating to Rochester, Maryanne taught 7th grade Language Arts in Syracuse, NY. While pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Technology from Central Michigan University, she taught at Roberts Wesleyan University, in the Transitional Studies program at Monroe Community College, and served as an adjunct instructor at Empire College. Currently, she is a faculty member at Roberts Wesleyan College, where she teaches in the Literacy and Adult Graduate Programs. Maryanne is also deeply committed to promoting literacy within the community through her active involvement in professional organizations such as the Rochester Area Literacy Council, the New York State Reading Association, and the International Society for Technology in Education. Her research interests include adolescent literacy, digital and multimodal writing, and online learning and teaching.
